We are delighted to welcome Wardil Organization as a youth-led NGO based in Duhok, Kurdistan region of Iraq. Focused on empowering young men and women in local communities, the organization aims to bridge the gap in opportunities available to youth through integrated programs that include capacity building, training, environmental awareness, community-based initiatives, and promoting non-formal education in both rural and urban areas.
In recent years, the organization has successfully implemented programs to strengthen the role of women in tribal communities, provided leadership and entrepreneurship training for youth, and launched initiatives addressing environmental protection and the impacts of climate change.
Wardil also organize vocational courses such as sewing and handicrafts, as well as workshops on health, education, and clean energy, with the aim of improving livelihood opportunities for vulnerable groups.
Wardil aspires to be a leading youth-driven platform for advancing human development and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals locally and regionally, with a strong belief in the importance of international partnerships to expand the impact of their work.
Some recent activities include:
Launching the Environmental Ambassadors Program, engaging over 200 young men and women from across the Kurdistan Region to raise environmental awareness and build an active youth network for environmental protection.
Organizing training workshops for university and institute students on leadership, civic participation, and engagement in local elections.
Supporting rural women through training programs on sustainable agriculture and small business management.
Hosting community events to raise awareness about climate change and recycling, with active participation from local residents and students.
